carbon management
With climate change recognised as being a very real and significant threat to our future, it is up to all organisations, as well as individuals and governments to take steps to reduce their carbon emissions. This daunting task can be tackled by way of a carbon management programme which is defined by the Carbon Trust as:
"…a strategic approach to address the carbon and financial costs of an organisation's operation"
The key stages in a carbon management process are:
Earth to Ocean can help you to identify carbon emissions attributable to your organisation and can work with you to produce a baseline assessment of the amount of carbon you are producing (a "carbon footprinting" exercise). Earth to Ocean are experienced in the use of “PAS 2050: Assessing the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services” and have set up systems to footprint a sports event. Our Director Susie Tomson, is also a Footprint Expert™ Registered Consultant.
We can help to develop an action plan for reducing these emissions, including identifying technologies that could help you achieve lower emissions targets and put in place a monitoring programme to ensure that emissions continue to fall. Throughout this process, Earth to Ocean will work across the organisation to ensure widespread support for the carbon management programme. As a Carbon Trust registered consultant we can help to deliver product footprints in preparation for the Carbon Reduction Label administered by the Carbon Trust.
We are also able to provide a number of other environmental business support services.
